IPOP - About Us

Institute of Process-Oriented Work (IPOP), a civic association, was founded in 2010 to promote and develop process-oriented work and psychology, particularly in the Czech Republic. To this end, IPOP organizes activities for promotion and career development (e.g. peer groups), organizes trainings, workshops and seminars, brings together people interested in process-oriented approach, cooperates with other institutions and organizations, devotes to research activities, etc.

IPOP activities are designed for everyone interested in the method of process-oriented work, both, the general public and professionals (social and pastoral workers, psychologists and psychotherapists, physicians, teachers, people providing mediating and facilitation services, etc.)

IPOP has been inspired by long and fruitful existence of Slovak Institute of Process Oriented Work (POPI- Slovakia), referred to as to an older and more mature sister. IPOP is grateful to POPI-Slovakia, not only for inspiration and support, but also for the opportunity to use and modify the web page design by Andrej Jelenik.

IPOP activity is directed by a board elected by the General Assembly. Election period is 3 years.

Facilitating groups of all kinds can be a rich and challenging experience and requires perception, awareness and skills. The training is built on an appreciation for the diversity inherent in nature, people and groups. It works with notion that group differences, conflicts, tensions and passions contain the seed of the solutions to its problem and its evolution. At its core is the understanding that personal and professional experiences are intrinsic to learning and that the personal growth and awareness of the facilitator are key. The philosophy and interventions taught are accessible cross culturally and have been useful in both psychological and non psychological groups settings. Through intensive skills training and close tutor contact, participants will be supported to discover their personal and cultural diversity of facilitation styles and connect their learning directly to their professional life and the wider community.
